What exactly is glucomannan?

Glucomannan is a vegetarian fiber derived from the root of the tropical arachnida “Konjac” (Amorphophallus konjac). Structurally, glucomannan is a starch-like substance derived from branched carbohydrate chains.

Since about 1500 years the Konjac root in Southeast Asia has been estimated as a rich food, since in dried form it contains about 40% Glucomannan, and thus represents an important source for the nutrition. Clinical studies from America prove: The Konjac root has the sensational property that can saturate the user, and hence support weight reduction.

Important to know: The Konjac root must not be confused with the French brandy cognac. Named after the French city of Cognac, the drink is produced from white wine and has nothing to do with the konjac root we use.
