The essential fatty acids and determinants of their quality are EPA and DHA.

Many suppliers advertise high levels of omega-3. However, only other less effective fatty acids are added to the product.

When buying, be sure to get a sufficiently high dose of EPA and DHA, with both fatty acids in a certain proportion, depending on your application.

Conventional pharmacy items generally have a much lower dosage and do not pay attention to their proportion.

The essential fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential unsaturated fatty acids found predominantly in fish. They cannot be formed by our bodies themselves and therefore need to be absorbed through food. It was already established 100 years ago that omega-3 fatty acids have many positive properties. Researchers examined the lives of the Inuits in Greenland and found that despite their diet consisting exclusively of fish and seals, these people were healthy and did not suffer from cardiovascular disease. In this context, it was demonstrated for the first time that certain protective active substances had to be present in fish.
