The Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is an hydrosoluble vitamin and for that isn’t stored in the body in significant quantities.
As an antioxidant, vitamin C protects the body from oxygen radicals and is involved in the production of collagen, which is necessary for the formation of connective tissue, bone and cartilage, as well as skin function.
Also it stimulates the immunological system and enhances iron absorption through food.
